Karachi, News Trends: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the devastation inflicted by the floods was unexpected, adding that as many as 19 districts of Sindh would be affected by the floods.
Talking to media after reviewing flood situation in Sukkur, the PM said that the flood are wreaking more havoc than the earthquake that hit Azad Jammu and Kashmir and northern areas of Pakistan in 2005. He called upon the affluent to donate generously for flood-hit people. The PM maintained that the losses incurred by the floods could not be assessed. He said that all the concerned departments are directed to carry out coordinated rescue efforts. The Premier said that governments first priority is to rescue those marooned in wake of the deluge. He urged the global community to help Pakistan in this hour of need.
