ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Swine Flu Surfaces in Pakistan, A new swine flu case has been confirmed in the city’s private hospital.

The flu victim is Afghan female refugee, Latifa, whose blood samples have been sent to the National Health Centre Islamabad through Hayatabad Medical Complex, according to sources.
The patient was traveling from Dubai to Islamabad and was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Wednesday after he displayed symptoms when passing through an airport scanner. Laboratory tests confirmed he was carrying the virus.
“The patient has been kept in an isolation ward. All possible treatment is being provided,” said Dr Altaf Hussain, who is the executive director PIMS.
The staff are using double barrier protection as well.
